The Lean Certification Alliance is a partnership among three non-profit partners, all recognized as leaders in lean – the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), the Shingo Institute, and the Society for Manufacturing Engineers (SME) — and endorsed by Catalysis and GBMPA.
Lean Gold Certification is the highest form of SME certification a Lean professional can achieve. Gold certification provides a higher level, strategic Lean credential and represents an understanding of all aspects of Lean transformation across an entire enterprise. Additionally, Lean Gold Certification represents career progression to a point of influence and authority over assets, processes, and people.
Lean Gold Certification is achieved by demonstrating expertise in the application of lean principles on a regular basis. In addition to meeting experience and education requirements, Lean Gold recipients must be able to highlight achievements in implementing transformative change across multiple value streams, leading and coaching others in the transformation process, and successfully delivering lean and human development efforts within a portfolio of organizations.
